MR V. Jagannathan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of United India Insurance, has said that the company had collected a premium of Rs 3,068 crore in 2003-04. He said the profit figures had not yet been finalised and forecast a growth of 8 per cent in premium collection this year.

On the occasion United India launched a health insurance scheme, AB-Arogyadaan, exclusively for Andhra Bank's account holders.

United India's officials said the policy was issued for a family of four, and any one or all four members together can avail themselves of hospitalisation benefits. Arogyadaan's cost is lower than a regular mediclaim policy because it has been designed for a large group, thereby providing a volume-based discount. The annual premium for a cover of Rs 1 lakh is Rs 1,988.The age limit for first time coverage is 65 years and for renewal 80 years.
