Families apply for fresh PDS cards

KANCHEEPURAM, JUNE 11. Three thousand seven hundred and forty families in the district have applied for fresh ration cards in the first week of this month.

As of May 31, 2004, 4,36,345 families here were being provided with essential commodities through public distribution system. Of this, 44,389 families had converted their PDS cards into honorary cards last year.
