Shower likely

CHENNAI, JUNE 11. The sky will be generally cloudy with possibility of a shower or thundershower in some areas on Saturday.

On Friday, the maximum temperature at Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam was 32.3 and 32 degrees Celsius respectively, while the minimum was 24.8 and 25.2 degrees Celsius. The humidity level stood at 65 and 58 per cent, respectively.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Sowcarpet (East), Flower Bazaar, Egmore, Pudupet, Park Town and Mannady between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday due to maintenance work.

Train halt

Temporary halt for train no 2624 (Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Central) Superfast Mail at Avadi has been extended up to December 15, a Southern Railway release said.

Exhibition

Air pollution

The Respirable Suspendable Particulate Matter at traffic intersections in Kilpauk and T. Nagar was 81 microgram per cubic metre (mcgm) and 74 mcgm, respectively, against the permissible limit of 100 mcgm. The findings were part of a Chennai Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme conducted by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board for 24 hours from 6 a.m. on Thursday.
