BANGALORE, JUNE 11. A 30-year-old woman was clubbed to death allegedly by her husband in Rajajinagar police station limits on Thursday. The police said Ravi, a construction labourer, hit his wife, Kamakshi, on the head with a log suspecting her fidelity. A seriously injured Kamakshi was rushed to NIMHANS by her neighbours where she was declared brought dead, the police said. Ravi and Kamakshi, who were married for eight years, were residents of 5th Block, Rajajinagar. The Rajajinagar police on Friday arrested Ravi (36).
Chain snatched
A man put his hand through an open window and snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 from Bindu Kamath while she was asleep at her house in 6th Block, Jayanagar. The police said the incident took place around 3 a.m. on Friday. The Jayanagar police have registered a case.
Fire in shop
A fire broke out in a hardware shop in J. P. Nagar 2nd phase, 9th cross, around 10.40 p.m. on Friday. J.P. Nagar police said the shop was located next to a supermarket and opposite Diwakar's hospital. They said the fire was most likely caused by a short circuit. "It happened after the shop was shut for the day," they added.
