Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is unfortunate that terrorism has created a divide among the people, with some suspicious about all encounters and arrests and others believing all such actions to be genuine. The latest is the Ahmedabad shootout, in which four alleged terrorists, including Ishrat Jahan, were killed. As for the media, their pursuit of sensationalism will undoubtedly undermine our war on terrorism.
S. Rajagopalan,
* * * Sir, There is no denying that the Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terrorist outfits are active in India. So, till such time as the investigations are complete, the media and rights activists should observe restraint.
T.R. Srinivasan,
* * * Sir, It is still not clear whether Ishrat was associated with terrorists. In this context, the Shiv Sena members taking out rallies to oppose the donation of one lakh rupees to her family is uncalled for.
Syed M. Aman,
* * * Sir, Local politicians are busy exploiting the incident. What is worse, they are using the communal card for promoting their interests.
