Youth killed in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 24. A 26-year-old youth was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a KSRTC bus near the cashew factory at Pazhakutty, near Nedumangad, at 7 p.m. today.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod, a resident of Pramod Nivas, Kuzhivila, Pazhakutty, the Medical College Hospital sources said. The accident occurred while Pramod was proceeding from Nedumangad to Vithura. The KSRTC bus was coming from Vithura to the KSRTC depot in Nedumangad.

Pramod, who was seriously injured in the collision, died while being rushed to the hospital. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital.

Body found

The body of a 50-year-old man was found near the Kuvakkudy bridge in the Arayanad police station limits today.

The rural police suspect it to be a case of murder since a dhoti was found tied to the victim's neck; bloodstains were also found in the nostrils.

The shirt worn by the deceased had the label of City Fashion Tailors, police said.
