THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 24. Cinemas in the city will remain indefinitely closed from Friday in response to a call given by the fraternal organisations of the film industry. According to the Kerala Film Exhibitors' Federation chairman, S. Chandran, exhibition and production of films will come to a halt owing to the Government's failure to redress the grievances of the industry including restructuring of entertainment tax and cut in power tariff. Though the Government had taken a positive approach and invited the industry delegates for talks on July 1, all the arms of the industry had decided to go ahead with the agitation, Mr. Chandran said.
