Sir, So, we now know that the much-maligned Gujarat police were not too far wrong in alleging that Ishrat Jahan was connected with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, however peripherally. The real fault is that people on either side of the divide have simply acquiesced to their respective religions being hijacked by fundamentalists. The other problem is the venality of political India in fostering and using these very elements for electoral gains. It is time moderates of all religions assert themselves if we are to survive as a nation-state.
