Power handover

Sir, — The U.S.' handover of "power" to the Iraqis two days before the scheduled date of June 30 is a confirmation of the rout the Iraqis have inflicted upon the Americans. The Americans have been made to beat a hasty, unceremonial retreat. It is a repeat of Vietnam.

Thanks to the U.S. a new chapter in terror is waiting to be written in Iraq, which will be another hotbed of terrorism in West Asia in future.
