SSC pass percentage down

HYDERABAD, JUNE 30. The pass percentage in this year's SSC supplementary examinations is down by 6.62 per cent compared to last year. Girls, with a pass percentage of 41.50, have done better than boys.

The Minister for School Education, Nedurumalli Rajyalakshmi, declared the results here on Wednesday. She said that out of the 2,13,632 candidates who appeared for the exam, 84,298 cleared them, registering a pass percentage of 39.46 per cent. The exams were held between May 26 and June 8 this year.

She said the Mahabubnagar district, with a pass percentage of 75.63, had come up on top while Hyderabad, with a meagre 22.01, was at the bottom.
