MADURAI, JULY 9. The Madurai Bar Association today resolved to suspend its indefinite strike and return to work from Monday. Advocates in the southern districts are expected to suspend the agitation in view of the Presidential notification on the establishment of a permanent Bench of the Madras High Court here. Addressing a general body meeting here, the president, K. Vellaichamy, thanked all those who had supported the cause. The advocates would take part in a meeting convened by the committee of High Court judges in Chennai on July 14 and air their views on the territorial jurisdiction of the Bench, he said. Our Thanjavur Staff Reporter reports: Advocates of Thanjavur have also decided to withdraw their boycott. The resolution was adopted at the Thanjavur Bar Council meeting held here today.
