Hero Honda achieves higher net profit

CHENNAI: Hero Honda has achieved a net profit of Rs. 190 crores in the first quarter ended June 30, 2004, an increase of 20 per cent over the corresponding period in the previous year. The turnover has risen by 28 per cent to Rs. 1,745 crores from Rs.1,360 crores. Net sales have risen to Rs. 1,722 crores from Rs. 1,324 crores. The profit before tax went up by 23 per cent to Rs. 288 crores. The operating margins were 16.57 per cent as compared to 16.33 per cent in the corresponding period.
