MoU for electrifying villages

NEW DELHI, JULY 14. Two public sector organisations, Powergrid Corporation and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) for implementing the ambitious programme of electrifying all villages and rural households. Under the MoU, REC will be the nodal funding and disbursing agency for the Government grants and loans under the accelerated rural electrification programme (AREP). — Our Special Correspondent
