Back HP cuts notebook prices by 3-6 pc Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard India has announced a price drop of 3-6 per cent across various notebooks models, saying that it intended to pass on the benefit of duty cuts to the consumers. The company has however kept the price of its PCs unchanged post-Budget. "Notebooks represent a high potential market experiencing an average annual growth of - around 80 per cent. We expect the Budget announcement to further accelerate the growth of this market," Mr Ravi Swaminathan, Vice-President, Personal Systems Group, HP India, said in a statement. "There is no reduction in the price of PCs post-Budget ... We have decided to reduce the price of notebooks as they are fully imported and the level of countervailing duty has been brought down on finished goods," he added. The price reduction on notebook computers varies from three per cent to six per cent across various models.
