Court directive on affidavit

NEW DELHI, JULY 19. The Delhi High Court today gave a final opportunity to Bhupender Singh alias Rahul, who had conducted the sting operation on the former Union Minister, Dilip Singh Judev, last year to file an affidavit swearing that the original unedited video compact discs (VCDs) of the incident had been damaged.

The Court had on July 5 asked Rahul to file an affidavit to this effect following a submission by him that the original unedited VCDs having the whole alleged bribery episode had been damaged.

Pawan Narang, counsel for Rahul, submitted that he could not file the affidavit as he was away from town to attend to his ailing parents in Madhya Pradesh.

Mr. Justice Aggarwal asked Mr. Narang to comply with the court order within two weeks. Later, he fixed August 12 as the date for further hearing of the matter.
