Decision on contract paramedical staff soon: YSR

HYDERABAD, JULY 20. The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has assured to consider the issue of regularising the services of contract paramedical employees and said a policy decision could be expected in two or three months. He promised to solve their problem of payment of salary arrears.

According to a press release issued here on Tuesday by the Andhra Pradesh Medical Health and Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Employees' Union, whose leaders called on Dr. Reddy here on July 19, he said no employee would be removed from service.

The Chief Minister stated that an exercise was on to fill the vacant posts in various Government departments. Only after this was completed in two or three months, a decision on regularising the services of the contract paramedical employees could not be taken.

V. Rajagopal, president of the union, Bhoopal, secretary, led the delegation which included Lakshmana Rao, Someswara Rao, P. Srinivas, Rajani, Purender and Ratnakar, among others.

It pleaded for implementation in all districts of orders issued on July 13 relaxing budgetary control on the salaries of the contract employees.
