BANGALORE, JULY 20. Ten persons, including five in Bangalore, were killed and five injured in accidents reported from different parts of the State in the past two days. A man was run over by a train near the Malleswaram railway under-bridge on Tuesday morning. The man, who has not been identified, was crossing the track when he was hit by the train, according to the Railway Police. An autorickshaw driver, M.B. Shivakumar (28) of Girinagar, died when he was knocked down by a bus near Toll Gate on M.S. Ramaiah Road in the Yeshwantpur police station limits on Monday afternoon. The bus driver has been arrested and the vehicle seized. Nagabhushan (35) was fatally knocked down by a motorcycle at Yelahanka New Town on Monday evening. The Hebbal traffic police, who have seized the motorcycle, and are on the lookout for the rider. Azra Parveen (18), who was riding pillion on a two-wheeler, died of the injuries she suffered when she fell from the vehicle near the R.T. Nagar post office around 7.30 p.m. on Monday. The R.T. Nagar traffic police are investigating. Gopala (60), a labourer from Srirampuram, was run over by a truck in the Frazer Town police station limits on Monday afternoon. He was directing the truck driver when he got caught under the rear wheel. Five persons were killed and five injured in road accidents in Tumkur, Udupi and Davangere districts. Our Tumkur Staff Correspondent reports: A senior member of the Herur Gram Panchayat in Kunigal taluk of Tumkur district, M. Nanjundappa (40), and his friend from Tavarekere in the same taluk, Venkatesh alias Thimmappa (30), were killed on the spot when a tractor ran over them at Gavi Math near Kunigal town on Monday. Nanjundappa's daughter, Chandana (4), suffered serious injuries in the accident. Nanjundappa, it was said, had brought his daughter for medical treatment to Kunigal and was taking her back home when the accident occurred. Chandana has been taken to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences in Bangalore. Our Udupi Staff Correspondent reports: A man was killed when he fell from a bus near Saviralapa Dhumavati Temple in Udupi city on Tuesday. According to the Udupi town police, Abdul Aziz (42) was on his way from Korangarapady in a private bus. UNI reports: A 40-year-old woman and the driver of her vehicle were killed on the spot and four were injured when their van collided with a truck near Anagodu village on National Highway 4 in Davangere district in the early hours of Tuesday. The police said the van was on its way to Mysore from Mumbai. The injured have been admitted to Chigateri General Hospital.
