`Hike unit cost of weaker sections housing scheme'

HYDERABAD, JULY 22. The Congress MLA, V.Sunitha Laxma Reddy, has urged the Government to enhance the unit cost of the weaker section housing scheme and ensure that only eligible people were selected as beneficiaries under it.

Initiating the debate on demands for grants to housing, social welfare and other departments, she wanted the unit cost to be enhanced to Rs.40,000 from the existing Rs.22,500 for a pucca dwelling.
