Back Mega dairy plant lined up for AP cooperatives

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd (APDDCF) would establish a mega dairy plant in Hyderabad as to modernise the dairies in the cooperative sector in the State, according to the State Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Mr G. Surya Rao.

Replying to a question raised in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, the Minister said that the APDDCF is also planning the establishment of bulk milk coolers in new areas, computerisation and networking of the marketing and procurement activities, and strengthening of milk chilling centres.

The Minister said that there was no proposal for privatisation of loss-making dairy units, particularly the co-operative dairy in Nellore district
