HYDERABAD: The traffic police, the most vulnerable lot to be exposed to pollution, can now have a lungful of oxygen, thanks to an agreement between the police department and a city-based corporate hospital.

Under this agreement, Image Hospitals has set up a clinic at the Traffic Police Control Room here that facilitates the cops to inhale fresh oxygen for ten minutes. The clinic, opened by Mr K. Jana Reddy, the Home Minister on Sunday, is named `Swas' clinic.

According to an Image Hospitals release, an intake of 10 minutes of oxygen would do a lot of good to the traffic police. "Traffic police are exposed to very harmful and dangerous gases like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide emitted from vehicles," it said.
