Back Directive to KSEB

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lok Ayukta, Mr K. Sreedharan, has directed the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) not to disconnect electrical connections for non-remittance of bill amounts shown in the bills issued after the fixing of electronic meters.

The order was issued in response to a complaint filed in this connection. The petitioners had submitted that the directive to pay up based on the first bill issued after installation of electronic meters had created a lot of financial hardship.

The order wanted the KSEB to furnish details on what steps had been taken to redress the petitioners' grievances. The KSEB should also furnish details on the steps taken by it on the complaint and the number of defective electronic meters replaced.
