Back SSI Q1 net zooms to Rs 3 cr

SSI Ltd has reported an increased net profit of Rs 2.98 crore on revenues of Rs 10.82 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 compared to a net profit of Rs 84.84 lakh on revenues of Rs 13.14 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.

Total expenditure for the quarter was Rs 7.35 crore (Rs 8.18 crore) and interest was Rs 58.27 lakh (Rs 3.77 crore), said a company release.

Effective April 1, 2003 SSI's education business was sold to Aptech Ltd.

Further, its IT services business is being merged with the Bangalore-based Scandent group.
