Back Marginal rise in BEL net Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 30 BHARAT Electronics Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 58.14 crore for quarter ended June 30 this year. This was a marginal increase of 8.7 per cent over its net of Rs 53.50 crore for the same quarter last year. Total income of Rs 639.31 crore showed over 10 per cent growth over last year's Q1 earnings of Rs 578.86 crore. Of this, the net sales made by the defence electronics major accounted for Rs 617.14 crore. Profit before tax was Rs 84.11 crore with a tax provision of Rs 25.97 crore for the quarter. The company showed an expenditure of Rs 538.46 crore, up from Rs 484.23 for Q1 in the previous fiscal. EPS for the quarter was Rs 7.27. The audited earnings for the entire fiscal 2003-04 are at Rs 2,890.58 crore with net profit of Rs 316.10 crore. EPS for the year was Rs 39.51.
