Back Rubber steady on limited arrivals

KOTTAYAM: Spotrubber prices remained almost steady on Tuesday.

Trading volumes declined while the arrivals were thin. continued to be narrow. As the covering groups put a halt to their purchases, sheet rubber RSS 4 lost 50 paise to close at Rs 58 against Monday's Rs 58.50. on Monday.

The Rubber futures improved slightly with moderate volumes. The August delivery was quoted at Rs 57.90 (Rs 57.82); September delivery at Rs 54.90 (Rs 54.51); October delivery at Rs 53.45 (Rs 53.40), and November delivery at Rs 53.10 (Rs 52.70) per kg for RSS 4.

At Bangkok, RSS 3 moved down to Rs 57.40 from Friday's Rs 57.51. on Friday. The TOCOM September futures for RSS 3 closed at 137.3 yen a kg against 138 yen on Monday.

The spot market rates per kg on Tuesday are: are as follows: RSS 4 Rs 58 (Rs 58.50); RSS 5 Rs 56 (Rs 56); ungraded Rs 54 (Rs 54); ISNR 20 Rs 52 (Rs 52), and latex 60% at Rs 40 (Rs 40).
