Back Relief camps for flood-hit northern Kerala Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of Health is working overtime to reach medical assistance to those affected by floods and landslips in the northern districts, an official spokesman said. Free medical camps have been organised at a number of places in these districts. Preventive measures against possible breakout of infectious diseases have been initiated. Ambulance serviced and rapid response teams have been put on alert in all districts. All natural sources of drinking water are being chlorinated. District Medical Officers have been told to put on stand-by emergency medical care facilities. A round-the-clock response cell has been set up at the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) in Thiruvananthapuram.
