THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Capital City Development Forum has sought the intervention of the Chief Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, in the efforts to expedite priority-listed developmental projects identified for the capital region.

In a memorandum, the forum leaders called for urgent steps to hand over to the Centre land acquired for the development of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. It urged Mr Antony to take up the issue with the Union Civil Aviation Minister.

The forum also expressed fears that Kerala would lose many of the newly announced rail services unless the proposal for a second terminal at Veli was not followed up in right earnest. It also appealed for urgent steps to set up a box terminal at Vizhinjam.
