Vishnu Prasad bags title

KOCHI, AUG. 8. A.S. Vishnu Prasad bagged the medallists' title (upper primary section) in the first RSC Open chess tournament that concluded at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Sunday.

Vishnu Gopakumar won the lower primary category honours.

Final placings (medallists): Upper primary section: 1. A.S. Vishnu Prasad (3 pts from 3 rounds), 2. Parikshith Ram Varma, 3. Tinu Thomas.

Lower primary section: 1. Vishnu Gopakumar (3 from 3), 2. Sanjay Sridhar, 3. Madhusudanan Raj.

Non-medallists, high school: 1. Athul Kishore (Toc-H, 5 from 5), 2. N.Sreejith, 3. Avinash.
