Back 'Pvt-public sector tie-up must in defence production'

IN order to enhance defence exports, private industry engaged in defence production should enter into technological production, joint production and co-production with Ordnance Factory, according to Mr Shekar Dutt, Secretary, Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.

At a press conference, organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), he said such a proposition would materialise only when Ordnance Factories receive the technical support required at that level.

However, this will materialise only when they get the technical support required at that level.

He added that the private sector should invest more in research and development, as its expenditure was not very high in India, according to a CII release.
