HYDERABAD, AUG. 15. A labourer, Hanmanthu, allegedly killed his father (60), by smashing his head with a boulder at Attapur on Sunday morning. The motive behind the killing was not yet known. According to the Rajendranagar Sub-Inspector, A. Chandrashekhar, both the father and son were working at Osmangunj as daily-wage earners. While Hanmanthu was living at Ambedkarnagar, his father resides at Jummerat Bazar in a rented room. Police say both the father and son were habitual drinkers. "They picked up a quarrel while walking along the road near Sangitha petrol bunk near Attapur", the SI said. Locals told the police that Hanmanthu smashed his father's head with a boulder, killing him on the spot, before fleeing.
