Back Global sustainable development body chief coming

New Delhi , Aug. 17

THE newly-elected Chairman of World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Mr Bertrand Collomb, is scheduled to visit India in November.

"He will be hosted by CoRE-BCSD, the Indian affiliate of WBCSD. The idea is to share the best practices of sustainable development with the Indian companies and learn from similar Indian practices," said Mr Cameron Rennie, Director, WBCSD Sustainable Livelihoods Programme.

Mr Rennie is on a visit to India to attend a series of seminars organised by CoRE-BCSD or the Corporate Roundtable on Development of Strategies for the Environment and sustainable development - Business Council for Sustainable Development, which is an initiative by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

In the first seminar organised here on Tuesday, various companies such as Ballarpur Industries Ltd, Shell India Pvt Ltd, TVS-Sundaram Clayton Ltd and Aviva shared their projects and business models.
