Back Plea against KSEB unbundling Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Electricity Workers Federation, an affiliate of the AITUC, has demanded the Centre that the State Electricity Minister be restrained from going ahead with a proposal to break up the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The `unbundling' was not tenable given the United Progressive Alliance Government's declared intention to review the Electricity Act, 2003, according to Mr A.N. Rajan, Working President of the federation. In the process, the Electricity Minister, Mr Kadavoor Sivadasan, had assigned consultants PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to conduct a due diligence of the public utility. This was done by recalling the file containing a proposal to engage the consultancy, which the Minister's predecessor had returned, Mr Rajan alleged.
