Back Southern Rlys to run Onam Specials Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Southern Railways will run a special train in the Bangalore-Thiruvananthapuram-Bangalore stretch in view of the expected heavy rush of passengers during the Onam season. A spokesman said that the No 621 Bangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Special will depart from Bangalore City at 10.15 p.m. on August 26 and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 4.30 p.m. the next day. In the return journey, the No 622 Thiruvananthapuram-Bangalore Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 5.30 p.m. on August 31 to reach Bangalore at 10.30 a.m. the next day. The special train will stop at Varkala, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chenagannur, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem, Tirupattur, Kuppam, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore Cantonment. Meanwhile, additional stoppage has been provided for the 635/636 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central Onam Special at Varkala. The No 635 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Special of August 25 and August 26 and the No 636 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Special of August 26 and August 29 will stop at Varkala.
