Back State DWCRA, SHGs awarded

THE `Best State Award' has been presented to the members of the Development of Woman and Child in Rural Areas (DWCRA) and Self Help Groups (SHG) of Andhra Pardesh at a National Craft Mela (SARAS) in Jaipur recently, an official release said here on Monday.

About 300 SHG members from 18 States have participated in the exhibition jointly held by the Ministry of Rural Development, Rural Non-Farm Development Agency (RUDA) and the Rajasthan Department of Rural Development to promote marketing skills of SHGs and their products at the national level. About 25 DWCRA/SHG members from AP took part in the exhibition.

The Andhra Pradesh was selected as Best State in the exhibition for overall performance in sales, marketing skills, variety of products brought, discipline and organisation.
