Back Excise norms on moving petro products modified

THE Centre has decided to withdraw the facility of removal of petroleum products from the refineries to warehouses or from one warehouse to another without the payment of the Central excise duty with effect from today .

Consequent to the withdrawal of the facility of removal of petroleum products without payment of duty for warehousing purposes, the excise duty on these products is now liable to be paid by the refineries at the time of removal, as is prevalent in the case of other excisable goods, an official statement said.
