Back AP to get 7 more FM transmitters Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 6 ANDHRA Pradesh will have seven more FM radio transmitters going operational during the Tenth Plan at a proposed cost of Rs 25 crore, according to the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy. Laying the foundation stone of a new FM radio transmitter at Vijayawada on Monday, the Minister said the new places would be Kakinada, Srikakulam, Karimnagar and Nellore. The Vijayawada transmitter would be upgraded from the present 1 KW to 10 KW at a cost of Rs 2.75 crore. The transmitter would have the latest stereo transmission facilities. It is expected to cover areas in and around Vijayawada, including Guntur, East Godavari and parts of Nalgonda district.
