Rivalry in CPI(M) groups to the fore

TIRUPATI. Sept. 10. After a brief let-up, the intra-party rivalry between the CPI(M) town unit and its break-away group, People's Front, floated by its erstwhile district secretary, G. Malyadri, have once again come to the fore.

The cause for the fresh flare-up is the alleged ransacking of the CPI(M) office located in the BTR colony here reportedly by some assailants belonging to the rival group. While the official party unit claimed that the site under dispute measuring 15 cents belonged to it, the breakaway group leaders insisted that it belonged to the hospital, which was existing there.

Dharna held

CPI(M) activists laid siege to the mandal revenue office here protesting against the highhandedness of the `unsocial elements' and demanded their immediate arrest. A CPI(M) press release said that the Alipiri police registered a case against Mr. Malyadri and his followers in this connection.
