Closure notices to 52 industrial units

HYDERABAD, Sept. 10. The Regional Task Force of the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has issued closure notices to 52 industrial units and closed down five of them for brief periods in 2004-05 so far. Last year, notices were issued to 62 units, of which 25 units were ordered to be closed until they made the changes suggested.

The Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, G. Visveswar Rao, and the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Zonal Office, Ramachandrapuram, B. Siva Prasad, on Friday listed the five units that closed down for brief periods. They are Prathista Industries, S. Lingotam, Nalgonda district, Nitya Laboratories, Pashamylaram, J.T. Alloys, Bollaram, Nestor Pharmaceuticals, Pantancheru and Mahalaxmi Stone Crusher, Komatipally, all in Medak.
