People's War frees `covert'

By Our Staff Reporter

WARANGAL, SEPT. 10. Dasari Nageswar Rao, an alleged covert was released by the People's War naxalites on Friday afternoon. He reached the Eturungaram police station soon after his release.

Nageswar Rao was abducted by the naxalites a fortnight ago branding him a covert introduced by the police. However, Rao's parents said he was mentally unsound. In a recent statement, the People's War leader, Yadanna, said he would produce Nageswar Rao before the media soon, but released him on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police, K. Srinivasa Reddy, termed the PW claims as baseless and said it was not the State Government's policy to use coverts.
