City Police, Chennai records win

TIRUNELVELI, SEPT. 12. City Police, Chennai beat Sports Hostel `B', Palayamkottai 3-0 in the inaugural match of the State-level hockey tournament conducted by Mathew's Hockey Club here on Sunday. Parthi, Dominic and Balamurugan scored.

In another match, Rajeev Gandhi Hockey Club, Kovilpatti, prevailed over Sports Hostel `A' 7-6 via sudden death. At the end of regulation time, the teams were level 3-3. In the tie-breaker, the teams scored three goals each. Palraj (2), Mathalam (2), Solomon Raj, Karthik, Madhavan scored for Kovilpatti team. Maheswaran, Anbukannan (2), Singaraj, Sivaselvam, Rajesh Kannan scored for Sports Hostel `A'.
