NEW DELHI, SEPT. 13. Indian Air Force (Palam) denied Indian Air Force (New Delhi) a hat-trick of Delhi Soccer Association senior division league titles by scoring a 2-1 victory in its maiden final appearance at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday. The Palam side, promoted to the senior division league this season after winning the `A' division last year, bounced back from a second-minute deficit by equalising in the second half and finding the match-winner a minute from close. Jayanto Das headed in early to give the New Delhi side the lead. IAF Palam found the equaliser in the 63rd minute through Lalramzuava who made the most of a poor clearance. The decisive goal came through a penalty, converted by Vanlalzewnchuaha. Garhwal Heroes won the `A' division title while Goodwill Sports Club claimed the honours in the `B' division. The Fair Play trophy went to Hindustan Club. The following individual prizes were also given: Best Goalkeeper: Krishna (Youngmen Club); Best Defender: Sanat Kar (IAF New Delhi); Best Midfielder: Lalramzuava (IAF Palam); Best forward: Raghubir Singh (IAF Palam).
