HYDERABAD, SEPT. 15. Film actress and Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, Jayaprada, appeared before the Seventeenth Metropolitan Magistrate here today in response to a direction issued by the court to be present in a case against her for allegedly violating the election code during the MCH elections in 2002. She was booked while campaigning on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party beyond the stipulated time. Former TDP MP S. Venugopalachary, who figured as accused No. 1 in the case, also appeared in the court. The NBW against Ms.Jayaprada was cancelled `in-absentia' on the ground that she would turn up in court. She presented two sureties. Ms. Jayaprada and Mr. Venugopalachary stated separately that they were unaware of the NBWs and came to the court based on newspaper reports.
