Back Kalam to attend NAAC meet Our Bureau
HYDERABAD: The President, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, would take part in the decennial celebrations of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to be held in Bangalore on November 5. NAAC, an autonomous institute of the University Grants Commission, has accredited 2,021 higher education institutions, including 111 universities and 1,910 colleges in the country over the past 10 years. In the decennial year alone, it has given accreditation to more than 1,500 institutions, the highest ever in a single year, by an accreditation agency in the world, according to an official release here. Besides assessment and accreditation of higher education institutions, NAAC is also focussing on dissemination of best practices and spreading quality awareness among students, the release said.
