Back Ceramic park near Vizag planned

VISAKHAPATNAM: The State Government is considering setting up a ceramic park in the vicinity of Visakhapatnam.

It will seek the technical support of the steel plant here, according to a press release issued here by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).

As a prelude to the move, the APIIC and the Ceramic Entrepreneurs Service Society are jointly organising a one-day workshop here on Friday at Hotel Dasapalla.

Dr. H.S Maiti, Director, Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata, will deliver the keynote address.

The focus of the seminar will be on setting up ceramic clusters using the existing infrastructure and the raw materials available such as clays, bauxite, quartz, felspar, calcite and beach sand - zirconia. The vast hinterland will provide the market for the ceramic products, adds the release.
