Back Govt to set up national food tech institute

New Delhi , Sept. 22

THE Ministry of Food Processing Industries said on Wednesday that it intends to set up a national institute of food technology and management at a cost of Rs 133 crore.

It said in a statement that the proposed institute would train world-class food technologists and entrepreneurs and would serve as a nodal agency for research and development in the food processing sector.

The feasibility report on the project is likely to be completed this year and the institute is expected to cost Rs 133 crore.
