Arrangements for `Rathotsavam' reviewed

TIRUMALA, SEPT. 22. The TTD Executive Officer, Ajeya Kallam, was on Wednesday closeted with the heads of various departments and reviewed the arrangements to be initiated for the smooth conduct of the "Rathotsavam" of the Lord on Thursday morning. The Rathotsavam (car festival) will commence at 7.40 a.m.

The Rathotsavam (Car Festival) which assumes equal significance on par with the Garuda seva festival, shall commence at 7.40 a.m. on Thursday. Thousands of devotees from different parts of the country reach the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara to participate in the mega event, every year.

Mr. Kallam ordered engineering personnel to ensure barricading along the mada streets, through which the procession would pass.

The Annadanam officials were instructed to supply water and butter milk to on-duty personnel and devotees engaged in pulling the chariot.

Instructions were also issued to all the concerned to ensure proper safety measures at the `supatham' marg.
