CPI to support Congress

Announcing this here on Wednesday, S. Sudhakar Reddy, MP and CPI State secretary, said the party decided to extend support to the Congress candidates in view of the present political situation in the State. The party executive discussed the issue after a request was made by the Congress seeking support of CPI in the elections, he said in a press statement.

I-T Dept. to open new offices
According to a press note issued on Wednesday, the Tuni office would be opened on Thursday with jurisdiction of Tuni, Sankhavaram, Kotananduru, Toondangi, Gollaprolu, Prathipadu and Yelleswaram in East Godavari district. The Tadepalligudem office would be opened on September 27, covering the revenue mandals of Tadepalligudem, Pentapdu, Nidamarru, Nallajarla and Devarapalli of West Godavari district. The third IT office would be opened at Suryapet on October 1 with jurisdiction spread over 27 revenue mandals of Nalgonda district. The other offices would be functional at Adilabad and Vikarabad from the third week of October.

Panchayat Raj engineer suspended
Mr. Venkateswara Rao, who joined as SE here on September 3, faced charges of corruption in the past when he worked as Executive Engineer of Panchayat Raj and SE of Rural Water Supply (RWS) at Warangal. His suspension orders came as an enquiry proved the charges against him, according to official sources. The SE of Panchayat Raj, Anantapur circle, Ganeswara Rao, assumed charge as incharge SE of Cuddapah circle and sent the order by fax as he was undergoing departmental training.
