Naxalite problem

Sir, — At the meeting of the Chief Ministers of nine naxalite-infested States on Tuesday, Shivraj Patil said the States should adopt their own strategies. The naxalite issue is not a law and order problem but a socio economic one. It may be localised in some patches but there is a common thread. So the initiative for a solution should come from the Centre.
