A viable alternative

Sir, — The article, "Non-violence as an alternative" (Sept. 23), looks at non-violence as an option in the Palestinian agitation against Israel. Even during the Indian independence struggle, the British used violent and brutal means. So there is no point in being apprehensive of Israel's repressive means of controlling non-violent protests.
