Back Deepak Fertilizers plans specialty mall in Pune

IN a bid to tap the upcoming infrastructure scenario around south-western Maharashtra, Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (DFPCL) on Tuesday announced the launch of Ishanya — a one-stop mall for interior and exterior products — to be built in Pune with a capital outlay of Rs 100 crore.

"An independent survey suggested a committed construction of around 550 million sq ft in seven cities around Pune. We plan to cash in on this boom by providing infrastructure solution to all these real estate players," said Mr S.C. Mehta, Managing Director, DFPCL at a press conference here.

Ishayana is slated for completion by the end of 2005. It will offer customers a wide range of national and international products besides service brands.

The products and services range at Ishanya will cater to all sectors of buyers including home and office owners, the hotel and retail industry, and for all categories of commercial developers and builders. It will feature over 52 categories of products ranging from glazing, flooring, furniture, furnishing, hi-tech consumer electronic white goods, lighting, and acoustics, besides art, sculpture, and landscape, Mr Mehta pointed out.

Through this specialty mall, the Rs 600 crore DFPCL plans to introduce project management skills and a software park experience.

While the Indian Institute of Interior Design (IIID) and the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) have exclusively endorsed the concept as collaborators, three leading universities of UK have planned to contribute to this project in architectural aspects, Mr Kamal Malik, Architect of Inshanya said.The marketing partners for Ishanya are Knight Frank (India) Pvt Ltd and ICICI Property Services will provide a basket of alternative lease and rental options.
