Back Globsyn in talks with BPO major for training support

GLOBSYN Technologies, which is setting up an academy for business process outsourcing, is in talks with a BPO multinational for dedicated technical support training, which is expected to support around 1,200 personnel per annum.

Speaking at the launch of the academy, Mr Bikram Dasgupta, CEO, said the new facility would try to meet the rising demand for trained manpower in the BPO segment.

The academy, formed in collaboration with Webel, the outfit promoted by the West Bengal Government, will integrate diverse training requirements of BPO companies. "We will seek to enmesh domain specific knowledge with what we call are `human excellence competency' modules", Mr Dasgupta told newspersons here, adding that the association with Webel adds special value to the project.

Mr Subhendu Mitra, MD of Webel, mentioned that Webel expects the academy to become the nodal centre for BPO/ITES services in this part of the country. Webel hopes to assist its partner in identifying academicians and faculty members who would impart training at the academy. Mr Manabendra Mukhopadhyay, Minister for IT, West Bengal t, felt the State will soon require trained personnel in greater numbers.
